ECOFIT
was established in 1976 to design, manufacture and sell induction
motors and fans. By 1981 it had developed external rotor motors
and integrated them with fan impellers, a concept that formed the
platform for 20 years of growth and success.
In 1993 ECOFIT introduced an ISO 9002 quality control system,
that continues today through the AFAQ, with an ISO 9001 / Version
2000 certification.
1994 saw a change ownership, ECOFIT becoming part of group ROSENBERG,
a company with technically similar fan products but designed for larger
applications.
By 1998 ECOFIT had taken the decision to cease manufacture of conventional
motors and to focus its attention on the compact dimensioned and speed
controllable external rotor motor, mainly for fan drive and liquid
agitation.
In March 2002, ECOFIT acquired ETRI, leading manufacturer of compact and industrial fans and blowers, and its US branch office ETRI Inc. in Monroe, North Carolina. This acquisition is a major event to ensure the growth of ECOFIT and better face the technology challenges in the cooling fan market. In
its catalogue, ECOFIT presents a wide range of both single phase
and three phase AC motors and fans, and brushless DC fans. Many
standard products shown in the catalogue will provide immediately useable
solutions, but ECOFIT also recognises the need to develop customised products
to fulfil particular requirements. Co-operation, optimised design and customer
satisfaction are amongst the primary goals of ECOFIT. Achieving these objectives
is the role of the commercial and engineering departments within ECOFIT,
as well as a skilled external sales organisation that provides a vital liaison
service.
A particular strength of ECOFIT is its experience in low noise applications
that require high efficiency fan impellers, often within demanding
environments. ECOFIT now has 7000 m² of modern production space in Vendôme,
France, and exports more than 70% of its production, 30% of
that being to non-EU countries.
